It is our pleasure to invite you to attend the International Conference "Theory and practice of harmonization of interaction of natural, social and production systems of the region". The conference will be held on 12th and 13th of October 2017, in Saransk (Republic Mordovia) in the co-organization of N. P. Ogarev Mordovia State University, Geographical Institute “Jovan Cvijić” SASA, Institute of Ecology of the Volga Basin RAS and Mordovia Branch of Russian Geographic Society.

On January 13, 2017. Geographical Institute organized a Cocktail party, as traditional iformal gathering of the employees, collaborators, partners and pensioners of the Institute. On that occasion, the retrospective of the last year activities, significant events and professional success of the Institute was presented. Moreover, the plans for the forthcoming year were outlined.

On 20 December 2016, Alexander Shestakov, rector and Viktor Katochkov, vice-rector for International Cooperation of the South-Ural State University in Chelyabinsk (Russia) made an official visit to the Geographical Institute with the aim of realizing the international cooperation. Visit was an exchange of information on the work of institutions and planning for future cooperation.
