Associates of the Geographical Institute “Jovan Cvijic” SASA, Dr Јovana Brankov, Dr Ana Milanović Pešić, Dr Suzana Lović Obradović, Dr Stefana Matović and Dr Dejana Jakovljević, attended the International Conference “EUROGEO 2024 Conference: COMPROMISED GEOGRAPHY: SPREADING A NEW WORLD” held in Faculty of Arts and Humanities of University of Porto in Porto (Republic of Portugal), organized by European Association of Geographers (EUROGEO) from 30th May to 1st June 2024, and presented their scientific research on that occasion.
Colleagues from our Institute used the time in the conference to get knowledge of modern trends and methodology in geographical research and geographical education and discuss the possibilities of involving our employees in projects implemented by EUROGEO.
A part of the team from our Institute used their stay in Portugal to visit the Department of Geography and Tourism, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Coimbra, one of the oldest active universities in the world, which is inscribed in the UNESCO Cultural Heritage List. The visit was organized at the invitation of Dr. Claudete Oliveira Moreira, Director of the Master's Program for Tourism and Cultural Heritage at the Department of Geography and our long-time collaborator. On that occasion, we got acquainted with the history of the university development as well as current work and activities, and disccused the possibilities for expanding cooperation between our institutions.
