The Geographical Institute “Jovan Cvijić” SASA participated in the exhibition “Spatial and Urban Planning of Kosovo and Metohija”, successfully realized in Kosovska Mitrovica 2-3. June 2022, organized by the Serbian Spatial Planners Association, Faculty of Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Pristina with temporary headquarters in Kosovska Mitrovica and the Faculty of Geography of the University of Belgrade.

The organizers, in cooperation with numerous scientific and professional institutions, collected and systematized the available spatial and urban plans, as well as other professional documents made for the area of Kosovo and Metohija, whose summaries formed the exhibition setting and material published in the thematic catalogue. Within the event, several professional lectures were organized, as well as a visit to the Serbian medieval monasteries of the Patriarchate of Peć and Visoki Dečani.

Within the exhibition and the published catalogue, the Geographical Institute "Jovan Cvijić" SASA presented two publications:

  1. Šara Mountain Župas Gora, Opolje and Sredska and
  2. Commune Štrpce (Sirnićka Župa).

The authors of the presented material are Marija Drobnjaković, Ph.D., Radmila Miletić, M.Sc., and Vladimir Popović, M.Sc., a Scholar of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, Serbia.
